Powerful Question Database System
The key to easy, efficient test generation is
storing your questions in an indexed, cross-referenced
database. This way, you can easily sort questions in any way you
want --e.g., topic, format, difficulty level, or other categories of your own choice.
Question Bank databases provide instantaneous access to as many questions as
you wish to store -- and, you can
create as many databases as you wish. Once an item is recorded in a database, it can be
included in any test without retyping.Imports Questions from Word
Processor Files
You probably already have a large inventory of questions:
i.e., the tests you've composed using your word processor. You want the convenience and
power of a question database -- but you shouldn't have to retype all those questions in
order to get it! The Question Bank can solve the problem by "reading" your
wordprocessor files and automatically storing each item in a database record.
Handles Any Size or Type of Question
Beware of "stripped down" test generation programs
which limit you to a few predefined question formats such as true-false and
five-option multiple choice. The Question Bank supports all common question
formats, including fill-in, essay, multi-part, and matching. There is no limit on
question length, and you can have as many multiple choice options as there are letters in
the alphabet.
Supports Special Fonts and Graphics
The Windows environment supports special fonts and graphics -- and so should your
test generator! The Question Bank lets you employ any font installed on your system, and
even has a handy point-and-click feature for inserting symbols from special fonts.
Subscripts and superscripts are handled with a single keystroke. Graphics in any of the
common formats (BMP, PCX, JPEG, PNG and almost 20 more) can be stored in a "graphics
library" and inserted in questions as needed.
Shuffles Questions or Multiple Choice Options
When you create a test, you can tell The Question Bank to randomly select questions from
any part of the database you specify. Then, at print time, you achieve even further
randomization by having The Question Bank shuffle the order of either questions or
multiple-choice options. With this option, you can create up to 100 different versions of
the same test, complete with corresponding answer keys -- perfect for large lecture halls
or multiple sections of the same class.
Easy Transition to On-Line Testing and Tutoring
The Question Bank is designed strictly for traditional paper-and-pencil test generation.
When you're ready to move up to on-line testing, tutoring, and mastery learning,
your course outlines and question databases are 100% compatible with the file system used
in The Question Bank's companion program, PC University.
Instantly, you can be giving tests in a computer lab or over the internet!
